Recognising Excellence in Clinical Negligence Law
When you’ve suffered harm due to medical negligence, it’s important to know that your solicitor is not only experienced, but also recognised for their expertise. That’s where the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme comes in.
This accreditation is a respected quality mark awarded to solicitors who specialise in clinical (medical) negligence law and who demonstrate a high level of competence, knowledge, and experience in handling these sensitive and often complex cases.
What Does the Accreditation Mean?
The Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation is awarded to solicitors who act for claimants in medical negligence cases and who have met a strict set of criteria. The application process is rigorous. Applicants must submit detailed evidence of their experience and expertise, which is then assessed against high standards by an independent panel.
Not every solicitor who applies is successful. Those who are accredited must reapply every three years to prove that they still meet the necessary standards and continue to practise at the level expected.
In short, the accreditation is a mark of excellence. It confirms that a solicitor has proven capabilities not just in the law, but also in client care, communication, and case management.
Why Is Accreditation Important?
For clients, this accreditation offers peace of mind. It means that your solicitor has:
-
Demonstrated specialist expertise in clinical negligence,
-
Handled a wide range of complex cases,
-
Committed to delivering high standards of legal service,
-
Proven their commitment to continued professional development.
Being accredited also reflects a solicitor’s ability to manage complex claims with the sensitivity and empathy that clinical negligence cases often require.
In short, it’s a quality kite mark – recognised not just by clients, but by legal professionals and other experts in the field.
